About the event

Finally, we can launch Top Tour Weekend Hemavan, which is done in collaboration with our local top tour guides Anton Grindgärds from Hemavan Adventure and Per Jannesson from Bergtrygg. They have with them Josef Westerlund, esteemed IFMGA mountain guide with experience in ski guiding from all corners of the world. Welcome to a long weekend with two days of top tours and a nice hangout at Tunet, where we spend the night, eat and socialize.

The top tours are offered in two levels. Maximum number is 18 places.

TRY IT (12 places)

Suitable for those who are curious. No previous experience is required for top tours, but you should master red piste skiing in varying conditions and preferably have tried some off piste. Your guides are Anton and Per and here we thoroughly go through equipment and technology.

NEXT STEP (6 places)

Suitable for those who have been on top tours several times before and know you like it. Here you get to deepen your experiences together with like-minded people. This group goes with Josef as a guide and gets to experience more advanced summit tours.

Our mountains and guides

In the area around Hemavan, we have access to a large number of fine summit tours of varying degrees of difficulty, most of them with very short approaches. The mountain massif Norra Storfjället offers lots of options, a little to the east lies the famous Ryfjälls massif, which offers tour options in all directions with downhill skiing in almost 1000 continuous meters of drop. Should weather and snow conditions indicate better conditions to the west, in Norway, we have plenty of options within one to two hours of driving with our minibuses. Exactly where the tours during the weekend go are determined by our guides before and during the event itself.

Josef Westerlund

The mountains are my workspace. In the mountains and nature, I feel that I am really alive, every moment becomes tangible. I am fascinated by people and communication and enjoy creating conditions for collaboration, experiences and adventures. But the mountains are not only adventures, there is also room for reflection.    I have worked with outdoor activities since 1999 and am an authorized international mountain guide (IFMGA).

My main field of work extends through Japan, the entire Alps and northern Scandinavia. I strive for safety, high technical quality and leadership to permeate all my work.

Anton Grindgärds

The mountain massif around Hemavan is both my office and my living room all year round because I have the privilege of living here. I run my own company with main activities in the avalanche safety industry and outdoor experiences all year round. In addition to a high level of safety thinking and good leadership, I always strive to maximize riding pleasure based on the conditions that nature provides. Certified mountain guide from the Outdoor Academy as well as Svelav avalanche technician and avalanche instructor. Basically, I have an M.sc. in geology and mineralogy.

Per Jannesson

Local entrepreneur who runs a guide company and resale of ski and climbing equipment. Trained mountain guide from Storuman Folkhögskola as well as avalanche technician and pisteur.
